SBBJ,SBH,SBM,SBP and SBT to operate as SBI from April 1st

Reserve Bank of India has made an announcement that all the branches of its five associate banks will operate as bStateBankofIndia-Associatesranches of State Bank of India, effective from April 1, 2017. The associate banks are as listed below:

  • State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur
  • State Bank of Hyderabad
  • State Bank of Mysore
  • State Bank of Patiala
  • State Bank of Travancore

“All branches of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Patiala (SBP) and State Bank of Travancore (SBT) will function as branches of State Bank of India from April 1, 2017,” said RBI in a press release.

“Customers, including depositors of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore will be treated as customers of State Bank of India with effect from April 1, 2017,” it added.

The proposed merger of State Bank of India with five of its associates has been approved by Cabinet and the orders have been passed on February 22, 2017.
