Last week, Flipkart had restricted refunds on various categories including books, home decor, lifestyle and fashion products, fitness equipment, musical instruments, automotive parts and pet supplies. This information was intimated through its portal. Flipkart has now made changes to the text of the return policy that had appeared in its site to restrict refunds.
Flipkart has mentioned last week in their site that — Flipkart’s returns policy would only allow replacements in these categories in the event of defects, virtually ruling out refunds. Flipkart still doesn’t allow returns on other categories such as mobile phones, furniture, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions and small appliances.
The website said, “No refunds offered. All sales are final.” But all of a sudden, these lines were removed off from their site over the weekend. They have also denied on any such new restrictions laid on its return policy.
Customers believe that return policy of Flipkart is the most customer friendly in the e-commerce sector. Customers have the facility to request for instant refunds on about 67% of the 1,800 categories on Flipkart, directly through the self-service option. It is hassle-free, seamless and quick, and millions of customers have benefited from it.
