How to use GST Rate Finder app

With the roll-out of GST, the Indian government has launched an app on Friday called as GST Rate Finder. This app seems to be a simple tool to find out all the tax rates that are to be levied under the GST regime. The app has been developed by the Central Board of Excise and Custom (CBEC).

Now, let us see how to download and use this app.

Follow the steps to download GST Rates Finder App:

Step 1: Open Google Play Store on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Go to the search tab and type GST Rates Finder CBEC.

Step 3: Press the search button.

Step 4: The app will show up as below:

Step 5: Press install and the app will be downloaded on your phone or tablet.

Step 1: Click on the below image to directly take you to the GST Rates Finder  app installation screen.

Step 2: Press install and the app will be downloaded on your phone or tablet.

How to use GST Rates Finder App?

Step 1: Open the app on your phone or tablet.

Step 2: You will be landed in the app’s home page.

Step 3: Click on “TAX RATES: GOODS” to check the GST rates for all the goods.

Step 4: Different Tax rates will be listed for the goods.

Step 5: Click on a particular tax rate to list all products belonging to the selected tax rate.

Step 6: Enter the product name in the search box that you wish to find out.

Step 7: The searched product gets filtered and listed.

Step 8: Click on the product to get the following details:

  • Category
  • HSN / Chapter
  • GST Rate
  • Description

Step 9: Likewise, to check on the services go to step 2.

Step 10: Click on “TAX RATES: SERVICES” to check the GST rates for all the services.

Step 11: Follow steps 4 to 8.

Step 12: To access the rates from the CBEC GST website, go to step2 and click on “INFORMATION@CBEC”.

Note: Click on the Search icon seen at the right bottom of each screen to search any goods or services directly as well.
