There are so many services for which aadhaar card is necessary like availing government subsidies such as LPG, Kerosene subsidies directly into our bank account.
Central Government has announced now it is mandatory for all Indian residents to link Aadhaar card number with their bank account. Last date for this linkage is 31-Dec-2017, failing which the account will be blocked for using until the account holder provides the aforesaid information.
If the person does not have Aadhaar card number at the time of account opening, he should submit a proof that he has applied for Aadhaar card and aadhaar card number information should be furnished within the period of six months from the date of account opening.
Generally there are four ways to link Aadhaar card with your bank account online/offline: Through SMS, internet banking, bank branch and ATM

There will be a procedure for each bank to link Aadhaar through SMS which are mostly similar and can be found in each bank site. Generally you have to send a sms with the word Aadhaar or UID, 12 digit Aadhaar card number and your bank account number.
On verification of the provided Aadhaar details with the UIDAI, a confirmation sms will be sent to the registered mobile number.
When you login your net banking account, you can see an option, Link your Aadhaar number or Aadhaar card seeding.
On clicking that, you will be navigated to the screen where you can select your account and enter 12-digit Aadhaar card number. On completing verification, you will receive SMS to the registered mobile number.
How to link Aadhaar card through branch?
Account holder can visit any of the bank branches along with the photocopy of Aadhaar card and follow the procedures as advised by the banking correspondents.
How to link Aadhaar card through ATM?
Acount holders can access any of the bank’s own ATM. After swiping the card and entering the pin, you can find an option to Link Aadhaar number or Services – Link Aadhaar number. Then follow the instructions to enter 12-digit Aadhaar number to complete the process.
